Thanawat Tirapongpaiboon ( Thai : ธน วั ฒ น์ ถิร พงศ์ ไพบูลย์ , first name: Maen - แมน , nickname: Thainamo - ไทย นา ไม ท์ ; born December 14, 1993 in Nakhon Pathom , central Thailand ) is a professional Thai snooker player .

Career

After reaching the semi-finals at the 2010 Asian Championships, he was nominated by the Asian Association ACBS for the Snooker Main Tour in the 2010/11 season . After the first update of the snooker world rankings in October 2010, he was in 83rd place, having survived the first three qualifying rounds at the Shanghai Masters 2010 and only failed in the fourth due to Mark Davis .

In the third tournament of the Euro Players Tour Championship , he managed the 74th official maximum break in snooker history in the round of 32 against Barry Hawkins . At 16, he was the youngest player to ever make such a break in an official match.

At the German Masters 2011 he reached the finals in a full world ranking tournament for the first time, but failed in round 1 to ex-world champion Graeme Dott with 1: 5. At the end of the season he had to leave the main tour for the time being. In July 2011 he won the IBSF U-21 World Championship .

In June 2014 he won the ACBS U21 Asian Snooker Championship with a 6-1 final victory over the Iranian Siyavosh Mozayani and thus qualified for the main tour of the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons .

In his first year he got into the qualification for the world ranking tournaments late and started twice with zero defeats. It wasn't until the Indian Open 2015 that he achieved his first victory against Jimmy Robertson . He then won his opening match at the World Championship again before Robertson took revenge and defeated him in Round 2.
