Johann Nicolaus Anton

Johann Nicolaus Anton (born December 19, 1737 in Schmiedeberg ; † December 17, 1813 there ) was a German Lutheran theologian.

Life

The son of the citizen and cloth maker Johann Nicolaus Anton and his wife Johanna Rosina (née Frenzel) had attended the Wittenberg city ​​school. On October 21, 1754 he enrolled at the University of Wittenberg , where, after studying philosophy and evangelical theology , on October 17, 1758, he acquired the academic degree of a master's degree in philosophy. In 1759 he was ordained as a substitute in Schmiedeberg by Johann Christian Georgi (born August 2, 1688 in Schmiedeberg; † February 8, 1770 in Zabeltitz) in Wittenberg and after his death became a deacon in his hometown. He died unmarried and without children.
