Hans-Joachim Böttcher (born June 4, 1947 in Düben ) is a German preservationist , local historian and author .

Life

Hans-Joachim Böttcher worked until 1990 "in the field of science and construction in an industrial company" in the GDR. In 1991 he became a full-time monument conservator in the Eilenburg district - an activity that he had previously carried out on a voluntary basis. In September 2008 he took early retirement and continued to volunteer in the area of ​​monument preservation in the northern Saxony district .

He lives in Bad Düben and has been publishing in local newspapers, specialist journals, yearbooks and on the Internet since 1986 about the history of monuments and special historical topics in the northern Saxon region and the area around the Düben Heath . According to his own statements, he wrote over 600 articles by 2020. He also presented several monographs, primarily on personalities from Saxon history, but also in a European context.
