Manfred Wilde (born July 6, 1962 in Wolfen ) is a German historian and local politician . Since August 1, 2008, he has been Lord Mayor of the large district town of Delitzsch for the second electoral term .

Live and act

After training as an electrician in the period from 1979 to 1981, Wilde served in the Navy from 1981 to 1984 as part of his military service . He then worked for the Wolfen film factory for five years before moving to the Delitzsch city administration as a research assistant in 1989, where he worked until 1993. At the same time, he studied museum sciences and history at the HTWK Leipzig from 1990 , graduating with a degree in museology in 1995. His main academic teachers there were Frank-Dietrich Jacob, Arnold Vogt and Katharina Flügel. Wilde worked in the building planning office until 1997 and from 1997 to 1998 as cultural coordinator for the city of Delitzsch. From 1998 to 2008 he was director of the Museum Barockschloss Delitzsch .

Political activity

In autumn 1989 Wilde was a member of the citizens' movement in Wolfen . Together with the evangelical pastor, Axel Noack , he initiated the establishment of local associations of democratic parties and founded the round table. On June 6, 2008, the non-party Wilde applied, along with five other participants, for the office of mayor of the city of Delitzsch. He was elected the new mayor on June 22, 2008 with 60.2 percent of the valid votes. In the last Mayor election of Delitzsch on June 7, 2015, Wilde ran again and was confirmed in his office with 66.0 percent in the first ballot.

Wilde is a member of the main committee of the German Association of Cities, the Committee for Building and Environment of the Saxon City and Municipal Association, the Northern Saxony District Board of the Saxon City and Municipal Association and the supervisory board of the housing company of the City of Delitzsch GmbH, chairman of the industrial and commercial area Delitzsch- Südwest, chairman of the Delitzsch-Rackwitzer water supply association and deputy chairman of the Delitzsch wastewater association. On October 25, 2016, the Presidium of the Saxon City and Municipal Association named Manfred Wilde as a member of the Garrison Working Group of the German Association of Cities and Municipalities.

Scientific work in historical science

After studying at the HTWK Leipzig, Wilde attended the doctoral seminar with Reiner Groß at the chair for regional history of Saxony at the Technical University of Chemnitz from 1995 . In his dissertation , he dealt with studies on the development history and specifics of Central German manorial rulers in north-west Saxony. The doctorate to Dr. phil. received Wilde in 1996. The dissertation was supervised by Reiner Groß and Gerhard Dohrn-van Rossum . In the following years he worked on several independent projects for the atlas on the history and regional studies of Saxony under the direction of Karlheinz Blaschke . From 1998, Wilde attended Heiner Lück's doctoral and post-doctoral seminar at the chair for civil law, European, German and Saxon legal history at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg . On December 18, 2002, after being assessed by Reiner Groß and Heiner Lück , he completed his habilitation with a thesis on "The sorcery and witch trials in Saxony - structural and social aspects of a legal phenomenon in late medieval and early modern criminal law practice" . In the same year he was awarded the academic degree Dr. phil. habil. awarded by the TU Chemnitz. On January 15, 2003 he received the license to teach ( Venia legendi ) and the right to use the title Privatdozent from the Philosophical Faculty of the TU Chemnitz . In the following years Wilde worked part-time as a lecturer for Saxon regional history at the TU Chemnitz and for historical auxiliary sciences , with a focus on palaeography at the book and museum department of the University of Technology, Economics and Culture Leipzig (FH). The investigation of the sorcery and witch trials in the historical territories of the federal states of Thuringia, Saxony-Anhalt and Saxony, based on intensive archival source research, formed the main content of his scientific work. This includes studies on the Principality of Anhalt and in an international context, such as for the Encyclopedia of Witchcraft The Western Tradition, edited by Richard M. Golden.

Scientific work on sustainability and energy efficiency

Since January 23, 2014, Wilde has been a member of the Lord Mayor's Dialog “Sustainable City”, a project of the Council for Sustainable Development appointed in 2001 by the Federal Government. He pursues the advancement of climate policy goals within the “Mission Statement of the City of Delitzsch 2015”, an implementation of the “Energy-efficient City” research project sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). In addition, there is the evaluation and re-auditing of the gold status of the city of Delitzsch in the European Energy Award . The project group led by the city of Delitzsch within the BMBF project, which runs until 2016, includes the Institute for Infrastructure and Resource Management (IIRM) of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Leipzig and the Research Center Jülich, which is headed by Thomas Bruckner . In 2011, Manfred Wilde was a participant and speaker at the first German online energy summit organized by the German Association of Towns and Municipalities (DStGB). Wilde has been assigned to the Military History Museum of the Bundeswehr in Dresden , an institution of the Center for Military History and Social Sciences of the Bundeswehr in Potsdam . As a reserve officer, he is in the rank of frigate captain . Manfred Wilde is the author of a thesis on the NCO School of the Army of the Bundeswehr in Delitzsch. Since 2017 he has been an appointed member of the Clausewitz Society , an independent, non-partisan and non-profit association of active and former officers in the General Staff and Admiralty of the Bundeswehr .

Honorary positions

He holds numerous honorary positions , among other things, he has been a member of the Historical Commission of the Saxon Academy of Sciences and the German Society for Shipping and Marine History since December 3, 2004 .
