Ryan Clark (born September 22, 1992 ) is an English snooker player from Hartlepool . From 2013 to 2015 he played for two years as a professional on the Snooker Main Tour .

Career

Ryan Clark was one of the best English players in his youth. He had his greatest success in 2008 when he won the U-17 European Championship. In the final he defeated the defending champion Luca Brecel 5: 4. At the age of 15 he showed his first aspirations to become a professional snooker and took part in the PIOS qualification tour. In the 8 tournaments he managed only one victory. With the introduction of the Players Tour Championship (PTC) for the 2010/11 season , a professional series open to amateurs, he also enrolled in the very first tournament in Sheffield , but failed due to veteran Hugh Abernethy .

He made a second, serious attempt to get on the professional tour in 2013 through the Q School . He was already successful in the second tournament . He reached his group final and qualified as a professional snooker for two years with a 4-1 win over Zak Surety . In his debut season 2013/14 he started with two opening defeats before he won his first professional victory at the Australian Open against Vinnie Calabrese . After that, there was only one victory in a PTC tournament against Daniel Wells during the entire season . The Welshman was also his opening opponent at the World Cup . He succeeded in revenge and Clark lost just under 9:10.

When Clark lost his sponsor in 2014, he struggled with the financing of the travel and entry fees and was looking for a new sponsor without success. By then he had only won just under £ 700 from his two victories. In the second season he lost the opening matches of the first three major tournaments. He also appeared in the first three tournaments of the Players Tour on the European continent. But after he had lost all matches there without winning a single frame, he did not enter any other tournaments and ended his professional career.
