Krzysztof Wróbel (born June 24, 1981 ) is a Polish snooker player .

Career

In 2002 Krzysztof Wróbel made it into the finals of the Polish Championship for the first time , in which, however, he lost 4-0 to Marcin Nitschke . In the same year he retired from his first participation in the European Championship in the preliminary round. In 2005 he reached the final round for the first time and was defeated in the round of 32 to Icelandic Kristjan Helgason 3: 5. In June 2006, Wróbel took part in the IBSF World Grand Prix , which was held as a replacement for the amateur world championship that was canceled in 2005 , but in which he was eliminated in the preliminary round. In November 2007, he was eliminated from the preliminary round when he first participated in the World Amateur Championship .

In June 2008 Wróbel reached the round of 32 at the European Championships and lost there to the Irish Brendan O'Donoghue . At the Amateur World Cup in 2008 he moved into the round of 48, in which he was eliminated against Amir Sarkhosh . At the 2009 European Championships he reached the round of 16 after beating his compatriot Mariusz Sirko 4-1 , where he lost 4-5 to Englishman David Grace . In October 2009 he reached his best result on the Pontin's International Open Series with the round of 16 at the fourth tournament of the 2009/10 season . At the EM 2010 he was eliminated in the round of 32 against Patrick Einsle .

In the 2010/11 season Wróbel took part in two tournaments of the newly introduced Players Tour Championship . After losing to Peter Ebdon in the opening tournament in the round of 128 , he was eliminated from qualifying at the Brugge Open 2010 against his compatriot Adam Stefanów . In June 2011 he made it into the final round of the European Championship for the fourth time in a row , in which he was defeated 3: 4 in the round of 32 to the Englishman Martin O'Donnell . A few days later he formed the Polish team at the World Cup together with Kacper Filipiak , which was eliminated in the preliminary round despite an opening victory against the later semi-finalists Marco Fu and Fung Kwok Wai .

In September 2011 Wróbel succeeded in the Warsaw Classic with a 4-0 win against the Pakistani Najmur Khan for the second time to move into the main round of a PTC tournament, in which he lost to Marcus Campbell 3-4 in the round of 128. At the Amateur World Cup 2011 he reached the round of 32, in which he lost 3-5 against Alok Kumar . In February 2012 he took part in the German Masters as a wildcard player and thus for the first time in a full world ranking tournament, but was eliminated in the wildcard round with 2: 5 against Paul Davison . In July 2012, he retired from the preliminary round of the Main Tour invitation tournament 6-Red World Championship without a win. At the Polish championship in 2012 he made it to the final and met Marcin Nitschke there. Ten years after the 4-0 defeat in the final, Wróbel became Polish champions with a 7-0 victory. A year later he made it to the final again, but lost 6-7 to Michał Zieliński .

At the EM 2013 he reached the sixteenth finals. In October 2006 he made it to the quarter-finals at the 6-Red World Championship of the IBSF , in which he was defeated 4-5 by the Indian Shivam Arora . At the Amateur World Cup in 2013 he reached the round of 32 after a 4-2 win over Boonyarit Keattikun , in which he lost to his compatriot Mateusz Baranowski . At the Gdynia Open 2014 he was eliminated in the preliminary round. In June 2014 Wróbel again reached the round of 32 at the European Championship , in which he lost 5-1 to the Ukrainian Sergiy Isayenko .

In February 2015 he was eliminated again in the preliminary round of the Gdynia Open . At the 2015 European Championships , he made it into the sixteenth finals for the third time in a row, losing 4 1: 4 to the eventual finalist Jamie Rhys Clarke .

Wróbel currently plays at the Wroclaw billiards club DSB Bandaclub Skytower Wrocław .
