Michał Zieliński (born July 6, 1992 in Warsaw ) is a Polish snooker player .

Career

After he was eliminated in his first participation in the preliminary round in 2006 , Zieliński managed to move into the final round of the U-19 European Championship in 2007 , in which he lost his first round game 1: 4 against Mitchell Mann . In August 2007 he first took part in the U-21 World Cup and was eliminated in the preliminary round. In October 2008, he was eliminated from the preliminary round when he first participated in the World Amateur Championship . At the U-19 European Championships in 2008 and 2009 , he reached the second round. In May 2009 he was eliminated from the group stage of the final tournament of the World Series of Snooker 2008/09 . A month later, he moved into the final round of the European Championship for the first time and was defeated in the round of 32 to the Irish Mario Fernandez 2: 4.

From 2006 to 2009 Zieliński was Polish Junior Champion seven times; three times in the U-16 juniors and twice each in the age groups U-19 and U-21. In 2009 he made it into the final of the Polish Men's Championship for the first time , in which he defeated Marek Zubrzycki 7-1 and thus won the title for the first time. By beating the German Sascha Lippe , he reached the quarter-finals at the 2010 European Championship , which he lost 2: 4 to Luca Brecel , who later became the European champion. With a 7-0 win in the final against record winner Rafał Jewtuch , he successfully defended his title at the Polish Championship. With a victory in the U-19 juniors, he also won his eighth and last Polish junior championship title.

In the 2010/11 season , Zieliński took part in two tournaments of the newly introduced Players Tour Championship . After losing to Kurt Maflin in the first tournament in the round of 128 , he was eliminated from qualifying at the Brugge Open 2010 . He reached the round of 16 at the U-21 World Cup in 2010 , as well as in the 2011 European Championship . In the 2011/12 season , Zieliński again took part in two PTC tournaments, but was eliminated in both the opening tournament and the Warsaw Classic 2011 in the qualification. At the Polish Championship he reached the final for the third time in a row in 2011, but this time defeated Rafał Górecki 4-7. In June 2012 he reached the quarter-finals of the European Championship .

In February 2013 Zieliński achieved his best result to date on the Euro-Tour pool tournament series with 49th place at the Italy Open . At the 2013 European Snooker Championship , he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Gareth Allen . A month later he reached the round of 16 at the U-21 World Cup and lost to Zhou Yuelong . At the Polish Championship 2013 he made it to the finals and defeated Krzysztof Wróbel 7: 6. A year later, however, the former Main Tour professional Kacper Filipiak lost 7-2 in the final. In the 2014/15 season he took part in the Gdynia Open 2015 , but was eliminated in the first qualifying round with 3: 4 against Martin O'Donnell .

He currently plays for the Warsaw billiards club Konsalnet Warszawa .
