Jarosław Kowalski (born January 22, 1974 in Sandomierz ) is a Polish snooker player .

Career

Jarosław Kowalski started playing billiards in 1997 and took part in first tournaments in 1998. In 2001 he was nominated for the first time for the European Championship , in which, however, he was eliminated in the preliminary round. After he was eliminated in the preliminary round in 2002 , he made it into the final round for the first time in 2004 and lost 4-1 to Welshman David John in the round of 32 . In November 2004, he was eliminated from the preliminary round when he participated for the first time in the World Amateur Championship .

At the Polish championship in 2004 Kowalski reached the final for the first time and defeated defending champion Rafał Jewtuch 7-2. A year later he succeeded in defending the title with a 5-4 win over Jewtuch. At the European Championships in 2005 and 2006 and at the Amateur World Cup in 2006, however, he was eliminated in the preliminary round, as well as in the European Championship in 2008 . In the 2009/10 season he took part in three tournaments of the Pontin's International Open Series , in which he was eliminated without a win.

In September 2011, Kowalski first took part in a PTC tournament; At the Warsaw Classic he reached the main round with a 4-1 win over his compatriot Mateusz Baranowski , in which he lost 4-2 to former world champion Steve Davis in the round of 128. In June 2012 he made it into the final round of the European Championship for the second time , but lost to Greg Casey in the round of 64 . At the EM 2013 he reached the sixteenth finals and lost to the Dutchman Roy Stolk with 0: 5. In 2014 he became Polish Senior Champion. At the Gdynia Open 2014 and 2015 , he was eliminated in the preliminary round.
