The 2006 IBSF World Snooker Championship was the 31st edition of the World Amateur Snooker Championship . It took place from November 5th to 15th, 2006 at the Olympics Sports Center in the Jordanian capital Amman .
The Norwegian Kurt Maflin became world champion with an 11: 8 victory in the final against the Englishman Daniel Ward .
In the preliminary round match against Johan Lorek , Keith Boon from Singapore was the fourth player to play a maximum break at an IBSF World Cup.

The 85 participating players were divided into eight groups in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . The four best placed in each group qualified for the final round, which was played in the knockout system .
