The IBSF Under-21 World Snooker Championship 2002 was the 16th edition of the International Billiards and Snooker Federation discharged Junior World Championship Snooker . It took place in July 2002 in the Latvian capital Riga .

Ding Junhui became the new U21 world champion. The Chinese defeated Welsh David John in the final 11: 9.

mode

64 players took part in the U21 World Cup. In the group stage, 8 players played each other in a group in round robin mode (everyone against everyone). The top 4 in each group then qualified for the main tournament. These 32 players then determined the U21 world champion in an elimination tournament.
