The 2014 IBSF U21 World Snooker Championship was the 26th edition of the Junior World Snooker Championship hosted by the International Billiards & Snooker Federation . It took place from May 10th to 18th, 2014 in the Hotel Concorde in the Emirate of Fujairah in the west of the United Arab Emirates .

The world champion was the Iranian Hossein Vafaei Ayouri , who defeated the Irishman Josh Boileau 8: 3 in the final and thus qualified for the Main Tour seasons 2015/16 and 2016/17 . Vafaei also managed the first maximum break in the history of the U21 World Cup.

mode

The 78 participating players were divided into 16 groups of four or five players each, in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . The 16 group winners qualified directly for the elimination tournament of the last 32. Their opponents were the 16 winners of the preliminary round between the second and third placed in the group stage.

Both players were in the final of a Junior World Championship for the first time. Hossein Vafaei took a 4-0 lead before Josh Boileau won his first frame. The Iranian then extended his lead over 6: 1 and 7: 2 and finally won 8: 3 in the 11th frame.
