The 2010 IBSF World Snooker Championship was the 35th edition of the World Amateur Snooker Championship . It took place from December 4th to 15th, 2010 in the Ebla Cham Palace Hotel in the Syrian capital Damascus .
World champion was the Thai Dechawat Poomjaeng , who qualified for the Main Tour 2011/12 . In the final he defeated the multiple English billiards world champion and snooker amateur world champion from 2003 Pankaj Advani with 10: 7.
The Irishman Rodney Goggins played the fifth maximum break in IBSF World Cup history in the preliminary round match against Konstantinos Mavroforos . Goggins won the game for third place 4-2 against Noppadol Sangnil from Thailand .

The 80 participating players were divided into 11 groups in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . The four best placed in each group and four group fourth qualified for the final round, which was played in the knockout system , with 16 players receiving a bye in the first round.
