The 1993 IBSF World Snooker Championship was the 20th edition of the World Amateur Snooker Championship . It took place at the Sheraton Hotel in Karachi . The largest city in Pakistan hosted the amateurs' World Snooker Championship for the second time since 1966 .

The Thai Tai Pichit became world champion with an 11: 6 victory in the final against his compatriot Rome Surin .

mode

The 65 participating players were divided into eight groups in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . The top two in each group qualified for the final round, which was played out in the knockout system .
