1963 Amateur Snooker World Championship

The 1963 Amateur Snooker World Championship was the first ever IBSF World Snooker Championship . It was played from December 27, 1963 to January 4, 1964 at the Great Eastern Hotel in Calcutta , India . After 10 group games, the Welshman Gary Owen became world champion, second place went to the Australian Frank Harris .
