The 1998 IBSF U21 World Snooker Championship was the twelfth edition of the Junior World Snooker Championship . It took place from October 11th to 25th, 1998 at the Malta Billiards & Snooker Sports Center in Rabat and was organized by the International Billiards & Snooker Federation .

World champion was the Englishman Luke Simmonds with an 11-2 victory in the final against the Irishman Robert Murphy .

In the preliminary round, the participants were divided into groups in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . 32 players qualified for the final round, which was played in the knockout system .
