The 2011 IBSF World Snooker Championship was the 36th edition of the World Amateur Snooker Championship . It took place from November 28 to December 3, 2011 in the Karnataka State Billiard Hall in Bangalore and thus for the fourth time in India .

The Iranian Hossein Vafaei won the final 10: 9 against the Welshman Lee Walker and qualified for the Main Tour seasons 2012/13 and 2013/14 . At 17 years and 81 days he was the youngest amateur world champion to date. In 2013 he was replaced by the 15-year-old Chinese Zhou Yuelong .

mode

The 82 participating players were divided into 16 groups in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . The top three in each group qualified for the final round, which was played in the knockout system , with the 16 group winners receiving a bye in the first round.
