The IBSF U21 World Snooker Championship 2009 was the 21st edition of the Junior World Snooker Championship hosted by the International Billiards & Snooker Federation . It took place from August 3rd to 14th at the Dariush Grand Hotel on the island of Kish in southern Iran . The last competition was in 2007.
The Thai Noppon Saengkham won the tournament 9: 8 against the local hero Soheil Vahedi in the final. The U21 world champion was also qualified for the 2010/11 Main Tour season .
mode
42 players took part in the U21 World Cup. In 8 groups of 6 players they played the participants of the main tournament in round robin mode . The first 4 of each group were qualified. 32 players then played an elimination tournament from which the world champion emerged.
