The 2001 IBSF U21 World Snooker Championship was the 15th edition of the Junior World Championship in snooker billiards . It took place at the Spencers in Stirling .
The Englishman Ricky Walden became world champion with an 11: 5 victory in the final against the Northern Irishman Sean O'Neill .

The 62 participants were initially divided into eight groups, in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . The four best placed in each group qualified for the final round, which was played in the knockout system .
