1988 IBSF World Snooker Championship

The 1988 IBSF World Snooker Championship was the 15th edition of the World Amateur Snooker Championship . It took place at the NSW Sports Center in Sydney . World champion was the Thai James Wattana with an 11: 8 victory in the final against the Englishman Barry Pinches .

mode

The 52 participating players were divided into eight groups in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . The top two in each group qualified for the final round, which was played out in the knockout system .
