The IBSF U21 World Snooker Championship 2005 was the 19th edition of the Junior World Snooker Championship hosted by the International Billiards & Snooker Federation . It took place from August 15 to 25 at the Juffair Sports Center in Manama , the capital of the Arab island state of Bahrain .

Liang Wenbo from China won the title . He defeated his compatriot Tian Pengfei 11: 9 in the final . Liang was eliminated in the semifinals last year. Since both finalists had already qualified for the Main Tour in another way , there was no tour card for a tournament participant this year.

mode

63 junior players took part in the U21 World Cup. The field was divided into 8 groups of 7 or 8 players. In the round robin mode (everyone against everyone) the best 4 of each group were played, who qualified for the main tournament. These 32 players then determined the world champion in an elimination tournament.
