The IBSF U18 World Snooker Championship 2017 was a snooker tournament that took place from July 8 to 11, 2017 at the World Snooker Academy in the Chinese capital Beijing . It was the third edition of the world championship for U18 juniors organized by the IBSF World Amateur Federation.

The world champion was the Pakistani Muhammad Naseem Akhtar , who defeated the Chinese Lei Peifan in the final after a 1: 3 deficit 5: 3. The defending champion was Welsh Jackson Page , who lost to Amir Nardeia in the quarterfinals . Ka Wai Cheung , the 2015 winner , was also eliminated in the round of eight.

mode

The 48 participants were divided into 12 groups in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . The top two in each group qualified for the final round, which was played in a knockout system , with the top eight players in the group stage receiving a bye.
