final
While it was the last participation in a Junior World Championship for the 21-year-old Pongsakorn Chongjairak, his opponent Wu Yize from China was one of the three youngest players in the tournament at the age of 14. The more experienced Thai took the lead 2-0 and 4-1. Then followed his only high frame loss, in which he only scored 16 points, and with the only break over 50 points in the endgame, Wu made the connection. The Chinese had found his safety and although Pongsakorn got between 32 and 55 points, Wu won the next three frames and took the U21 junior world title 6: 4.
