1986 IBSF World Snooker Championship
The 1986 IBSF World Snooker Championship was the 13th edition of the World Amateur Snooker Championship . It took place at the Ascot Park Motor Hotel in Invercargill , New Zealand . World champion was defending champion Paul Mifsud from Malta with an 11: 9 win in the final against Welsh Kerry Jones .
mode
The 38 participating players were divided into four groups in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . The top two in each group qualified for the final round, which was played out in the knockout system .
