The 2003 IBSF World Snooker Championship was the 29th edition of the World Amateur Snooker Championship . It took place in October 2003 in the Jiangmen Arena in Jiangmen, the third time in China after 1998 and 2000 . The Indian Pankaj Advani became world champion with an 11: 6 victory in the final against the Afghan Saleh Mohammadi, who competed for Pakistan .

The 88 participating players were divided into eight groups in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . The four best placed in each group qualified for the final round, which was played in the knockout system .
