The IBSF U21 World Snooker Championship 2017 was a snooker tournament that took place from July 12 to 16, 2017 at the World Snooker Academy in the Chinese capital Beijing . It was the 29th edition of the World Championship for U21 Juniors organized by the IBSF World Amateur Association .

The world champion was the Chinese fan Zhengyi , who defeated his compatriot Luo Honghao 7: 6 in the final and thus qualified for the Main Tour seasons 2018/19 and 2019/20 .

The 71 participants were divided into 16 groups in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . The top two in each group qualified for the final round in the knockout system .
