The 2004 IBSF U21 World Snooker Championship was the 18th edition of the Junior World Snooker Championship hosted by the International Billiards & Snooker Federation . It took place from July 27th to August 5th at the Ivy Rooms in Carlow in the southeast of the Republic of Ireland .

Gary Wilson from England won the tournament with an 11-5 victory in the final against the Thai Kobkit Palajin. As a U21 world champion, he also qualified for the 2005/06 Main Tour season .

mode

The U21 World Championship had 64 participants who played the preliminary round in 8 groups of 8 players each in round robin mode (everyone against everyone). The top 4 in each group then qualified for the main tournament. These 32 players then determined the world champion in an elimination tournament.
