Jakub "Kuba" Sawicki is a Polish pool and snooker player .
Career
Kuba Sawicki started playing snooker at the age of twelve . In 1995 he became the 15-year-old Polish U-16 champion. In the same year he made it into the final of the Polish men's championship for the first time , in which he defeated Maksymilian Janicki 5-2 and thus won the title as the youngest player to date. In May 1996 he was eliminated from the preliminary round at his first European Championship participation. 1998 reached the finals of the U-19 European Championship for the first time and was defeated in the round of 16 by Irishman Martin McCrudden . A year later he became Polish champion for the second time with a 5-1 win in the final against defending champion Marek Derek .
At the U-19 European Championship in 2000 , he was eliminated in the round of 16 with 2: 4 against the eventual European champion Roger Baksa . 2001 Sawicki moved into the final of the Polish championship for the third time, in which he now lost 7-1 to Marek Derek. In the same year he reached the finals of the U-21 World Cup for the only time , in which he was defeated 2: 5 in the round of 32 to Welsh David John .
After a break of several years from competition, Sawicki took part in the Euro-Tour pool tournament series from 2014 . In April 2015 he made it into the final round of the Portugal Open for the first time on the tour, in which he lost after a 9: 7 win against Daryl Peach in the round of 16 with 8: 9 against his compatriot Mateusz Śniegocki , who later won the tournament.
