Mohammed al-Joker (born May 11, 1973 ) is a snooker player from the United Arab Emirates .

Career

In 1993, Mohammed al-Joker retired from the preliminary round when he first participated in the World Amateur Championship . After he was eliminated in the group stage in 1994 and 1995 , he took part in the Main Tour in the 1996/97 season . At the Asian Classic , the first world ranking tournament of the season, he moved into the second qualifying round with a 5-3 win over Australian Johl Younger , in which he lost 5-1 to Jason Dunworth . He then reached the second qualifying round at the Grand Prix and the UK Championship in 1996 , before being eliminated in the first qualifying round of the 1997 Welsh Open . Even in the four subsequent ranking tournaments ( International Open , European Open , Thailand Open and British Open ) he did not get past the second qualifying round. At the 1997 World Cup , he reached the second qualifying round without a fight through the withdrawal of Canadian Daryl Wouters , in which he was defeated by Englishman Jason Greaves with 1: 5. As 388th in the world rankings , he lost his Main Tour place at the end of the season.

In 2001 he moved into the second round of the Asian Cup and lost 4: 5 against Naveen Perwani . In September 2002 he made it into the final round of the amateur world championship for the first time , in which he had to defeat the Egyptian Mohammed el-Hamy 4-5 in the round of 32 . After he was eliminated again in the round of 32 at the amateur World Cup in 2004 , he took part in the qualification for the professional world championship for the second time in 2005 and was eliminated there in the first round. At the Asian Championships in 2005, however, he reached the second round. In November 2006 he lost at the World Amateur Championship in the round of 32 against Naveen Perwani. At the Asian Championships in 2007 and 2008, he again moved into the round of 16.

In July 2008 Mohammed al-Joker was eliminated from the 6-Red Snooker International invitation tournament in the preliminary round. At the Amateur World Cup in 2008 he reached the round of 32. After he had made it to the quarter-finals for the first time at the Asian Cup in 2009, he made it to the Amateur World Cup for the first time in November 2009 after victories against Suleiman Salam and James Mifsud into the round of 16, in which he lost to Philip Williams 5-0.

In October 2010 he took part for the first time in a tournament of the Players Tour Championship , in which, however, he was eliminated in qualifying against Gareth Green . Two months later, he reached the round of 32 at the Amateur World Cup and was only just 4: 5 defeated by the eventual finalist Pankaj Advani . In June 2011 he formed the United Arab Emirates team with Mohammed Shehab at the World Cup , which was eliminated in the preliminary round without a win. After he was eliminated in the round of 48 in 2011 , he reached the round of 32 at the 2012 Amateur World Cup , in which he lost 4-5 to Mohammad Senzahi . At the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games 2013 he was eliminated in the snooker singles as well as in the six red snooker singles and in the team competition in the round of 16. In September 2013, the preliminary round at the 6-Red World Championship followed . In December 2013, he moved into the round of 64 at the Amateur World Cup , in which he lost 3-4 to Manan Chandra . In November 2015 he reached the semifinals of the IBSF World Masters Championship , which he lost 5-1 to Jason Peplow .
