The 1994 IBSF World Snooker Championship was the 21st edition of the World Amateur Snooker Championship . It took place at the Holiday Inn Garden Court in Johannesburg . After 1976 , the largest city in South Africa hosted the Amateur World Cup for the second time.

Mohammed Yousuf from Pakistan became world champion with an 11: 9 victory in the final against the Icelander Jóhannes R. Jóhannesson .

In the preliminary round match against Tom Kollins , the Thai Preecha Sae Be played the first maximum break at an amateur World Cup.

The 73 participants were divided into eight groups in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . The top two in each group qualified for the final round, which was played out in the knockout system .
