Habib Subah ( Arabic حبيب صباح, DMG Ḥabīb Ṣubāḥ ; * 20th century in Bahrain ) is a Bahraini snooker player .

Career

Subah got a wildcard for the China Open in 2004 , where he surprisingly defeated Jimmy Michie 5-3 in the first round . In the first main round he was eliminated 5-0 against Stephen Lee , but he received a wildcard for a permanent place on the Snooker Main Tour in the 2005/06 season . He was also the first player from the Arab region to qualify for the professional tour - a second followed in the following season with Mohammed Shehab from the United Arab Emirates .

However, his professional season was not very successful, he had to accept opening defeats in all six major tournaments. He was closest to a win in a 4-5 victory over Nick Dyson in qualifying for the Malta Cup . At the end of the season he was 91st out of 94 players and had to leave the tour again.

He received a wildcard for the 2008 Bahrain Championship , which was held once , but lost to Mark Davis 5-0. At the World Open 2010 he was allowed to participate in a Main Tour tournament again, but lost to Darren Morgan with 1: 3 in round one.

In 2010 he made the quarter-finals at the ACBS Asian Snooker Championship , where he was defeated, however, by Thanawat Thirapongpaiboon 3: 5. In 2012 he failed in the same tournament in the round of 16 against eventual winner Aditya Mehta .

In 2012 he took part in the Q School , a qualifying tournament for the Main Tour. However, he missed the qualification; his best result was reaching the third round in the third event , but there he was defeated by the Irishman John Sutton 2: 4.
