The EBSA Snooker European Championship 2014 was the 23rd edition of the European Billiards and Snooker Association hosted European Championship in Snooker . It took place from June 1st to 11th, 2014 in Sofia , Bulgaria . The European champion was the Englishman Mitchell Mann with a 7-2 victory in the final against his compatriot John Whitty . Mann qualified for the main tour - seasons 2014/15 and 2015/16 .

The 90 participants were initially divided into 16 groups, each with five or six players, in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . The four best-placed players in each group qualified for the final round in which the European champions were determined using the knockout system .
