The EBSA Snooker European Championship 2000 was the ninth edition of the European Billiards and Snooker Association hosted European Championship in Snooker . It took place at the Spencers in Stirling , Scotland .
The Englishman Craig Butler became European champion with a 7-3 final victory against defending champion Björn Haneveer .

The 48 participants were initially divided into eight groups in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . The top two in each group qualified for the final round, which was played out in the knockout system .
