final
The final was a duel between two players who were only a month and a half apart in age and for both of whom it was the last U18 European Championship. Aaron Hill went into the final as the favorite. He was not only the defending champion, in two other tournaments he had once reached the eighth and once the semi-finals. Sean Maddocks had already participated in the tournament in 2018 , but was eliminated in his first main round match. A few weeks earlier, the Englishman had already been in the final of an international youth tournament at the 2020 WSF Junior Open , but he had lost that. Hill lived up to his favorite position from the start and started the first frame with a decisive break. Maddocks tried again, but a second high break gave the Irishman the lead. He built on this in a slightly more competitive second frame before pulling away to 3-0 with a 92-point break. Maddocks then won at least the honor point, but with his fourth high break of 50 points, Hill won the tournament. The Irishman immediately won the U21 European Championship .
