The 1995 EBSA European Snooker Championship was a snooker tournament organized by the European Billiards and Snooker Association in May 1995. It was held in the Northern Irish town of Banbridge in the Coach Club .
The Englishman David Lilley was European champion with a victory in the decisive frame with 8: 7 against the reigning English amateur champion David Gray . It was the third English victory in the fourth edition of the tournament.
Final round
Unlike the first three tournaments, the knockout phase started one round earlier with the round of 16. Of the 16 players in the first final round, 5 were from the host country Northern Ireland.
As before, the final was played in Best of 15 mode . For the second time in a row, two compatriots met. The current English amateur champion David Gray was favored against David Lilley , who was eliminated in the English championship in the semi-finals. But it was a close match and Lilley won the 15th and last frame with 8: 7. While Lilley then remained an amateur and had national and international success in the amateur field, Gray then started a successful professional career that brought him to 12th place in the world rankings .
