The 2017 EBSA U21 European Snooker Championship was a snooker tournament that took place from March 8 to 12, 2017 at the Hilton Park Hotel in the Cypriot capital, Nicosia . It was the 21st edition of the Junior European Championship organized by the European Billiards and Snooker Association .

Alexander Ursenbacher became European champion and qualified for the Main Tour seasons 2017/18 and 2018/19 . The Swiss secured his return to the professional tour, on which he had already played from 2013 to 2015, with a 6-4 final win over Welshman Jackson Page . Third place went to Andres Petrov and Tyler Rees . The reigning German champion Simon Lichtenberg reached the second round as the best German. The best Austrian was Florian Nüßle , who was eliminated in the round of 32 against Rees.

The 87 participants were divided into 18 groups in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . The top three in each group qualified for the final round, which was played in the knockout system .
