Roman Dietzel (born May 5, 1990 ) is a German snooker player . He became German snooker champion in 2014 .

Career

In 2009 Roman Dietzel qualified for the German men's championship for the first time , but was eliminated in the preliminary round. In 2010 he was German U-21 champion, but retired again in the group stage of the men's championship . At the German Championship 2011 Dietzel reached the final round for the first time. In the semifinals he was eliminated from the eventual German champion Patrick Einsle . In 2012 he reached the final for the first time, but lost it 2: 4 against Einsle. In August 2013, Dietzel took part in a PTC tournament for the first time. However, he lost in the first round game of the Paul Hunter Classics to the Norwegian Christopher Watts 0: 4. At the Ruhr Open he was also eliminated after a preliminary round match. A few weeks later he reached the final of the German championship , but lost to Lukas Kleckers 2: 4. At the Riga Open 2014 Dietzel won his first round game, but was then eliminated by Paul Davison . In October 2014 Dietzel succeeded in becoming German champion at the German championship with a 4-2 win over Sascha Breuer . In 2015 he finished third at the German championships, in 2016 he lost to Simon Lichtenberg in the final and came second.

Dietzel currently plays with SC 147 Essen in the 1st snooker Bundesliga .
