history

The SC 147 Essen was founded in 2009. In the 2009/10 season he started in the upper league, in which all 10 season games were won and with first place he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . In the second division they lost only two games in the following season and rose to first place in the 1st Bundesliga . In the 2011/12 season , the SC 147 reached third place before becoming German runner-up in 2013 , 12 points behind BSV Wuppertal for the first time. After finishing fourth in 2014 , they narrowly missed the championship title in the 2014/15 season . On the penultimate game day, SC 147 Essen lost the lead in the table with a 6-2 defeat against 1. DSC Hannover , which could not be regained on the last game day despite a win against SAX-MAX Dresden , because the Hanoverians against 1. SC Dortmund won. In the 2015/16 season , SC 147 Essen became German champions on the last match day with a 6-2 home win against Breakers Rüsselsheim .

The second team of SC 147 Essen made it to the league without losing points in the 2009/10 season. After finishing fifth there in 2012 and sixth in 2013, she just barely escaped relegation to the national league with eighth place in the 2013/14 season. She came fourth in the 2014/15 season and first place in 2016.

With Lukas Kleckers ( 2013 ) and Roman Dietzel ( 2014 ) two players of the club have been German champions in singles so far . Kleckers also reached the semi-finals of the European Championship and the Amateur World Championship in 2015 before moving to 1. SC Mayen-Koblenz in 2016 .

In addition to the team operation, the SC 147 Essen is the venue for tournaments of the German Snooker Tour .
