The German Snooker Championship 2009 was the 13th event to determine the national championship title in the men's snooker billiard variant . This tournament took place from October 28th to November 1st, 2009 in the Kurhaus in Bad Wildungen , Hesse . The snooker competitions have taken place there since 2005 as part of the German billiards championships, alongside the disciplines of pool , carom and bowling . In addition to the German men's snooker championship, German champions among women, seniors and juniors (U21, U19 and U16) were also determined.
Former Snooker Main Tour player Patrick Einsle , who has already been German champion five times in the juniors, defeated the two-time German champion and defending champion Itaro Santos 4-2 in the final . With this victory over his friend and training partner, he secured the title of German men's championship for the first time. For the German-Brazilian Santos this tournament was his last German championship, since he started in 2010 for his home country Brazil, which became a member of the IBSF . The two bronze medals went to Sascha Lippe and the former two-time German champion Thomas Hein , who won a medal for the first time in ten years. A remarkable achievement, since Hein won the German Senior Championship for the first time on October 27, 2009 with a final victory over Olaf Thode . In the last sixteen he eliminated the former professional player of the Main Tour Lasse Münstermann , who is the men's record winner with three German championships. Einsle achieved the highest break of the tournament with 100 points.
