Sam Frangie (* in the 20th century ) is a former Australian snooker player who won various amateur tournaments in Australia in the early 1980s and was a professional snooker player for four years between 1988 and 1992.

Career

Frangie was able to win the New South Wales State Minor Snooker Championship , a tournament at the level of the state of New South Wales , in 1981 with a victory over Harry Nenadich , which was followed by winning the Australian U23 Championship in 1982 .

Finally, a few years later, Frangie took part as an amateur in the Australian Professional Championship 1987 , in which he reached the quarterfinals by defeating Vladimir Potazsnyk and Paddy Morgan and was eliminated in this against Robby Foldvari . He then became a professional player for the 1988/89 season and again reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Professional Championship with a win over Lou Condo , in which he had to admit defeat in the Decider Warren King . He also took part in the third event of the WPBSA non-ranking series and in qualifying for the World Snooker Championship , where he lost his opening game with 2: 5 against Steve Meakin and 5:10 against Darren Morgan . Even if he did not play a single professional game in the following, he was led a short time later during the 1991/92 season to 155th place in the world rankings until he ended his professional career after only four seasons at the end of this season.

Several years later, Frangie took part in the Australian Snooker Championships in 1996 and 1997 without much success, but lost each of his opening games.
