The 1948 World Snooker Championship was a tournament that was played in Leicester Square Hall in London , England .
In the final, the Scot Walter Donaldson and the Englishman Fred Davis faced each other again. Unlike last year, Davis was able to win the first of eight world titles with a win of 84:61.
The highest break, with 109 points, was also achieved by Davis.
