NGC 3427 is a lenticular galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type S0-a and the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 286 million light years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3388 , NGC 3417 , NGC 3436 , NGC 3439 .
The object was discovered in 1877 by Ernst Wilhelm Leberecht Tempel .
