NGC 3415 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0-a in the constellation Great Bear in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 148 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 90,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky is the galaxy NGC 3416 .
The object was discovered on January 15, 1788 by William Herschel .
