NGC 3418 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 / a in the constellation Leo Minor in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 55 million light years from the Milky Way and about 25,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3380 , NGC 3400 , NGC 3414 .
The object was discovered on April 11, 1785 by William Herschel .
