NGC 3432 is a bar-spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type SBm in the constellation Little Leo in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 27 million light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years across. Together with the dwarf galaxy PGC 32617 , it forms the gravitationally bound galaxy pair Arp 206 .
Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class of galaxies with matter ejected from the nucleus .
The Type-IIn? Supernova SN 2000ch was observed here.
The object was discovered by William Herschel on March 19, 1787 .
