Barbara Blida

Barbara Maria Blida , née Szwajnoch (born December 3, 1949 in Siemianowice Śląskie ; † April 25, 2007 there ) was a Polish politician.

She studied at the Silesian Technical University , where she graduated in civil engineering in 1976. Since 1969 she was a member of the Polish United Workers' Party (PVAP / PZPR) , to which she belonged until its dissolution on January 27, 1990. Then she was a member of the successor party SdRP , for which she sat in the Polish parliament between 1990 and 1999. Between 1999 and 2004 she represented the SLD party there , in which the SdRP was absorbed.

Between 1993 and 1996 she was head of the building ministry.

She was investigated in connection with illegal payments to civil servants. During the arrest by officers of the Federal Security ABW she committed in the bathroom of her house with the weapon her husband's suicide . However, the circumstances of her death are partly unclear. The Sejm therefore formed a commission to investigate the circumstances of death. The defense of Barbara Blida's husband was Leszek Piotrowski , a well-known lawyer and former State Secretary in the Ministry of Justice.
