NGC 3448 is an irregular galaxy of Hubble type I B0? in the constellation Great Bear in the north star sky . It has an angular dimension of 5.6 '× 1.7' and an apparent magnitude of 11.6 mag. The galaxy is around 63 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 50,000 light years .
It forms an interactive pair with PGC 32740 known as Arp 205. The entire galaxy complex has an extension of about 150,000 light years. Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class of galaxies with matter ejected from the nucleus .
It was discovered on April 17, 1789 by William Herschel .
