NGC 2719 is an irregular galaxy of Hubble type in the constellation Lynx at the northern sky . It is an estimated 136 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 45,000 light years in diameter. Together with PGC 25284 , it forms the interacting galaxy pair Arp 202 / Holm 105 .
Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class of galaxies with matter ejected from the nucleus .
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 2724 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on March 28, 1786 .
