NGC 2726 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sa in the constellation Ursa Major at the northern sky . It is an estimated 71 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 30,000 light years in diameter .
The galaxy NGC 2742 is located in the same area of the sky .
The Type Ib supernova SN 1995F was observed here.
The object was discovered on March 19, 1790 by Wilhelm Herschel .
