NGC 2708 = NGC 2727 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation areas of the Hubble type Sb in the constellation Hydra south of the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 82 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 70,000 ly.
In the same area of ​​the sky are the galaxies NGC 2697 , NGC 2698 , NGC 2699 , NGC 2709 , among others .

The object was discovered by William Herschel on January 6, 1785 .
