NGC 2701 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Great Bear in the northern sky . It is an estimated 106 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years in diameter .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on March 18, 1790 .
